Baltimore County police were investigating the area of the Amazon facility in Sparrows Point Friday night.

Police tweeted that there was a heavy police presence at the Amazon facility for a call of a possible shooter. They later tweeted the building was on lockdown for because of the investigation and the was no active shooter on the scene.

Amazon reached out to WMAR and, according to the company's regional manager, Rachael Lighty, police determined that there was never any threat to anyone's safety at the site. She also gave us the following statement:

The safety of our employees is our top priority. While there was no validity to the claim, we took swift action to ensure our employees' safety on site. We thank the Baltimore County Police Department for their quick response.
