TOWSON, Md. — Baltimore County Police on Monday said they arrested a man who allegedly pointed a laser at their helicopter as it was helping officers search for a suspect.
It happened on July 26 just after 12:30 in the morning.
The helicopter was flying over Eastern Boulevard and Orville Road assisting in an unrelated investigation.
That's when 31-year-old Brandon Dunevant apparently stood in front of the 1700 block of Earhart Road, and shined a laser pointer through the cockpit of the police helicopter.
He's currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.
Police say pointing a laser at an aircraft is extremely dangerous to the flight crew and people on the ground.
If found guilty, Dunevant could face a $2,500 fine and/or up to three years jail time.
