Officer Robert Zimmerman was struck and killed by two vehicles as he was crossing the street to conduct a business check on Edmondson Avenue on Nov. 5, 1986. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment but succumbed to his injuries nin days later.
County officers will don the bands Wednesday, the 22nd anniversary of Zimmerman's death.
