The Baltimore County Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened on Friday night.
At around 9:25 p.m., the Baltimore County Police responded to a pedestrian-involved crash on York Road, near Sherwood Road, 21030. When they arrived, the officers determined that Benny Bitolas Villalobos, 86, of the 13800 block of York Road, 21230, was crossing York Road when he was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban traveling northbound on the same road. Villalobos was taken to the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:18 p.m.
The driver of the Suburban remained at the scene and, at this time, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Officers also found out that Villalobos was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by the vehicle.
