The Baltimore County police officer involved in the Aug. 1 shooting of Korryn Gaines of Randallstown has been identified.
Officer First Class Ruby, a member of the Support Operations Division with 16 years with the department, shot Gaines following an hours-long standoff that Gaines posted in real time to her social media feeds. Police had gone to her apartment to serve arrest warrants on her and her boyfriend.
Police said Ruby had been involved in one other police-involved shooting in August 2007.
Baltimore County Police declined to release the officer's name initially due to security concerns.
