GWYNN OAK, Md. — Baltimore County Police said an off-duty State Trooper was arrested in an alleged road rage incident.
Officers received a call for an assault on I-695 near the Liberty Road exit Sunday evening. Investigators discovered two victims who were traveling on the outer loop of I-695. They began changing lanes when they noticed a Volkswagen Jetta driving beside them.
The driver of the Jetta later pointed a handgun at the victims.
They victims cooperated with the investigation by providing information about the driver in the Jetta.
Detectives later identified the driver of the Jetta as 28-year-old Zachary Tyler Bowen, a Trooper with the Maryland State Police. Bowen has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime.
