BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — Baltimore County Police Department will be activating four new speed cameras in several school zones on Friday.

The cameras will be set up in the following locations:

  • Sandalwood Elementary School, 900 block of South Marlyn Avenue (southbound)
  • Deep Creek Middle School, 1100 block of South Marlyn Avenue (northbound)
  • Immaculate Heart of Mary School, 1700 block of Putty Hill Avenue (westbound)
  • Victory Villa Elementary School, 500 block of Compass Road (southbound)

All camera zones will be marked with signage, and, for the first 30 days, motorists who exceed the speed limit by at least 12 mph will receive warnings instead of citations.

Due to state law, Baltimore County's speed cameras will operate Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. These hours include summer months and weekdays when school is not in session.
