BALTIMORE — New teacher orientation in Baltimore County is underway as in less than two weeks, teachers and administrators will welcome about 155,000 students back to school.
This week, teachers are reporting to their schools for professional development activities. On Wednesday, BCPS Superintendent Dr. Darryl Williams addressed the new employees.
He was appointed in May. He replaced Interim Superintendent Verletta White and assumed his position last month.
"As we begin our journey together we have something in common. You're new, I'm new. There's anxious anxiety stress. But we're in this together," Dr Williams said. "You, our teams and I have to make BCPS a better place for all and we have 180 days to make that difference."
For the next two days, teachers will attend sessions at Perry Hall High School on equity, classroom management, professional conduct and other topics.
