RANDALLSTOWN, Md. — A Baltimore County teacher won MECU's "Thank a Teacher" award on Wednesday.
Dan Miller is the physical education teacher at Deer Park Middle Magnet School in Randallstown. He won $1,000 to use toward gym equipment.
Miller has been teaching for five years and says he loves to show kids how they can have a healthy and active lifestyle.
"Especially in this day and age where it's just so much technology and a lot of sitting inside on weekends watching Netflix," said Miller. "I think it's really important to give the students a chance, it might be their only chance all week to be active."
Miller also won $1,000 for the school.
