BALTIMORE COUNTY — In January, 76-year-old Rena Mellerson was thrown to the ground by a Baltimore County police officer outside her Lochearn home.

Mellerson was thrown to the ground as officers attempted to arrest her granddaughter Cierra Floyd for disorderly conduct.

The ordeal prompted an internal and criminal investigation and on January 28, the department released 45 minutes of 911 calls and body camera footage.

Floyd and Mellerson were facing a series of charges including resisting or interfering with an arrest and second degree assault.

On March 10, the State's Attorney's Office dismissed the charges against Rena Mellerson.

Cierra Floyd has 'prayed a jury trial', which means she has asked to have her case presented before a jury.
