Crash on I-83 NB leaves motorist dead after being ejected from vehicle

State Police say around 2:00 p.m. Friday they were called to I-83 northbound in the area of Belfast Road in Baltimore County for a reported crash.

Investigations revealed the accident occurred in a construction work area. A driver of a 2004 Harley Davidson Motorcycle was attempting to make a lane change from a grooved lane to a paved one.

The driver struck the curb between lanes and lost control.

As a result, the driver was ejected onto the left side of the road.

The motorcycle continued and struck a 2006 Volvo in the rear.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene by fire personnel.

Pennsylvania State Police York Barrack was contacted to make next of kin notification, but have been unsuccessful in locating the subject’s family at this time.

Traffic on I-83 was not affected by the investigation of this incident.
