Driver dies from crash near Bear Creek Drawbridge earlier this month

EDGEMERE, Md. (WMAR) — The driver of a corvette that was struck while making a u-turn near the Bear Creek Drawbridge earlier this month, has died.

Scout Nelson Custer, 24, of Virginia, died Thursday morning at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center as result of critical injuries suffered during the crash.

On February 9, Custer was driving southbound on Peninsula Expressway when he stopped on the shoulder to make a u-turn, and was hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe.

A passenger in the corvette suffered non-life-threatening injuries. No one in the Tahoe were injured.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is still working on the case.
