Driver dies on scene of multi-vehicle crash in Baltimore County

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — A driver that was involved in a multi-vehicle crash died on the scene, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

The crash happened on Sunday at around 5:30 p.m. Officers responded to Oakleigh Road at Putty Hill Avenue for a crash and was able to determine that a 2006 Scion Xa was traveling south on Oakleigh Road, near Putty Hill Avenue, when it hit the back of a parked van. The van was then pushed into the back of a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu.

After colliding with the van, the Scion continued into the northbound lane of Oakleigh Road and struck the front of a 2010 Ford Fusion that had been traveling north on Oakleigh Road.

The driver of the Scion, 39-year-old Curtis Terrell Cooper, of the 8600 block of Oakleigh Road, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver and passenger inside the Ford Focus were both taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Baltimore County Police Crash Team officers are continuing to investigate this crash.
