One dead after smoking materials start apartment fire in Dundalk

DUNDALK, Md. — Baltimore County Fire crews say one person is dead and another has non-life threatening injuries after a fire broke out inside of a Dundalk apartment Tuesday night.

Crews responded to the 2800 block of Dunlawn Court in Dundalk around 9:40 p.m. after a resident reported seeing smoke in his apartment.

When crews arrived they found a woman unresponsive in her apartment and immediately started to begin life support care. The woman, later identified as 59-year-old Lillian Lyman Lindeman, was pronounced dead.

The person who called officials reporting the smoke in his apartment was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Fire investigators determined the started when smoking materials ignited combustible items. The fire and smoke damage mainly was limited to the apartment of origin.
