TIMONIUM, Md. — Four new admissions at Stella Maris in Timonium have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Stella Maris said it has determined that four new admissions are COVID-19 positive.
The admissions were admitted directly into a dedicated COVID-19 unit, which is separate from the rest of the building and has a dedicated staff of healthcare professionals.
Throughout the admissions process, Stella Maris said they are working directly with the Maryland Department of Health to coordinate appropriate safety protocols for these new admissions.
In a statement, Stella Maris said in part:
"The safety, health and well-being of our residents and staff is our top priority.
We are taking the necessary steps to deter the spread of COVID-19 by following the recommended preventative actions as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These include screening all staff upon entry, not allowing any visitors and nonessential personnel, and cancelling all group activities within the facility."
