Ben Paepcke had to be rescued from the water on the Fourth of July. He shattered a vertebrae and seriously hurt his spinal cord. Now, the Calvert Hall alum is at Shock Trauma making progress.
Today, Earth Wood and Fire is holding a fundraiser for Paepcke's family. The pizza shop is donating 50 percent of purchases to his family.
"We also have t-shirts, bracelets, decal stickers for sale right out front, so all of these things will help pay for the upcoming expenses," said Mark Hofmann, family friend and owner.
The fundraiser will end at 8 p.m.
