The treatments can cause hair loss, splotchy skin and more. It can really take a toll on patients.

At GBMC, there is a boutique to help patients feel good about their new body marks.

There, patients can also find a cosmetologist who does private head shaves and patients can buy wigs, scarves, hats and other accessories.

"They really love the opportunity to get fitted for a wig. We'll actually style the wig as well, they’re able to come up here get that all done right where they see their doctor and get their treatments." said Oncology Support Program Manager, Brandon Costantino.

Staff can provide recommendations to patients on products and how to best combat their symptoms.

The money goes back into the hospital and the cancer center.

The boutique is open to the public from 8:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday and you don't have to be a GBMC patient to stop by.
