UPDATE: Police say the woman who dropped a rabid raccoon off at an animal shelter has been identified.
A raccoon has tested positive for rabies, after it was dropped off after hours at an animal shelter in Baldwin on Thursday evening.
After a request for the public's help finding the woman who dropped off the diseased animal, she was successfully located by Sunday.
The Health Department says any contact with a rabid animal could result in potential death.
