Liam Strong: Kicking Cancer

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — Liam Fanning. What an amazing young man.

He started complaining of pain in his left leg when he was playing soccer for the Hereford Soccer Club. At the age of 7, he found out he had cancer. Bone cancer.

The left leg has to be removed.

Word got back to the big boys at Hereford High School. They take care of their own, so they made Liam a teammate and gave him the number 10.

He gave them the 3-2-1 lets go Bulls. If he couldn’t make it to a game, he sent a video message. If he was feeling sick, his Hereford guys sent him well wishes. He loves soccer so much that his family took him to Liverpool.

There it would be like invited Michael Jordan over for a sleep over. Liam, his mom Cory, his dad John and big sister Niamh got to meet the team and the coach.

This Saturday, his Hereford High School team plays C Milton Wright. The winner goes to the states. Liam says C Milton is nothing after beating the big "C".
