CATONSVILLE, Md. — Maryland State Highway Administration confirms that there is a major water main break in Baltimore County.
The broken water main has damaged MD 144 (Frederick Road), between Ingleside Avenue and Mellor Avenue. Therefore, that area is now closed, in both directions.
There is currently no estimated time of when the lanes will be reopened. However, the closure will more than likely extend into the evening hours.
Officials say the broken water main is located near the long term closure of the outer loop of I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) ramp to MD 144, so motorists are encouraged to use US 40 (Baltimore National Pike), MD 372 (Wilken Avenue) and MD 166 (South Rolling Road) as detour routes.
