SPARROWS POINT, Md. — A large new tile and flooring distribution center is coming to Tradepoint Atlantic in Sparrows Point, and with it comes 150 new jobs.
Floor & Decor, a specialty retailer of tile, wood, laminate, and natural stone flooring and accessories, will be opening their new 1.5 million square foot distribution center in late 2019.
“This is what 21st century job creation looks like. We are excited to welcome a rapidly growing company like Floor & Decor to the growing list of companies at Tradepoint Atlantic,” said Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski.
If approved, the business will get a loan of $70,000 from Baltimore County to support the cost of equipment, and a $700,000 conditional loan through the Maryland Department of Commerce.
“By continuing to support the businesses of tomorrow, we can continue Sparrows Point’s transformative redevelopment into a vibrant hub for global commerce,” Olszewski said.
Olzewski says that Tradepoint Atlantic has the potential to bring 17,000 more jobs when it is fully developed and another 21,000 jobs during construction.
