PARKVILLE, Md. — A Baltimore County Police officer crashed and overturned his patrol car, Thursday night while rushing to an emergency in Parkville.
Police say the officer was driving north on Harford Road with lights and siren, when his and several other cars got stuck behind an Acura that was turning left into a parking lot on Acton Road.
The officer tried getting around the backup by getting into the oncoming southbound lane, resulting in a collision with the Acura.
Upon impact, the police car rolled over and struck a business in the 8500 block of Harford Road.
The officer and driver of the Acura were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
