One person is dead after a two-car crash.
Shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Maryland State Police responded to I-695, prior to I-795 for a collision.
Investigators learned a Chevrolet passenger car was traveling north on I-695 when traffic conditions began slowing, causing it to strike the rear of a Volkswagen GTI.
The passenger of the Chevrolet identified as Leonid Shamis sustained injuries and went into cardiac arrest at the scene and later died. The driver, Mikhail Shamis was also injured and transported to an area hospital.
The operator of the Volkswagen, Leah Birdsell Nguyen was transported to a hospital as well with non-life threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
