Two teens arrested for killing a man in Reisterstown in August

BALTIMORE COUNTY — Two teens have been arrested for killing a man in Reisterstown back in August.

On September 2, 18-year-old Marvin Louis Washington III was the first suspect arrested in connection with the August 16 murder of Gary Printice Melvin.

As part of the on-going investigation, Baltimore County Police Homicide Detectives were able to identify 17-year-old Xavier Damon Byrd Jr. as being the second suspect.

Byrd was 16-years-old at the time of the murder. On Wednesday, Byrd was arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Gary Printice Melvin.

Washington was charged with first degree murder and various other charges. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status.

Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting in Reisterstown that left one person dead.

Just after 5 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 11000 block of Reisterstown Road for a call of a shooting.

Officers arrived to find 30-year-old Gary Printice Melvin, of the unit block of Brookebury Drive, suffering from a gunshot wound. Melvin was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department's Homicide Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder.
