One person is dead after being rescued from a house fire in Baltimore County Monday.

Ryan Cavin, 39, died Monday morning.

The fire started at 4:30 a.m. at a home in the 100 block of Hazel Avenue in Lansdowne.

Seven people were in the house at the time of the fire, including two children.

A smoke alarm alerted Cavin's wife to the fire. She woke everyone up. Everyone escaped except for Cavin. Firefighters rescued him from the top of the stairs on the second floor.

He died at the hospital.

The 6 other family members were taken to the hospital as a precaution and are expected to be okay.

Witnesses said they heard a window pop out of the home.

According to officials, the children's father is disabled and had to be rescued. He was taken to St. Agnes Hospital where he died.

Officials said four generations lived in the home, including the children's grandfather who is also disabled.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Red Cross has been contacted.
