HALETHORPE, Md. (WMAR) — An overnight fight turned deadly after gunfire erupted inside a Halethorpe home Sunday.

Baltimore County Police say it happened around 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Northeast Avenue.

Arriving officers found 41-year-old Brian Michael Katuthat dead inside the home.

Detectives believe it started when Katuthat and another man who lives at the home got into a physical fight. Afterwards, Katuthat allegedly fired a shotgun through the other man's bedroom door.

This reportedly caused Katuthat to go into the bedroom and start another fight with the man. At some point during the second altercation, Katuthat died.

Police didn't say what if any injuries caused Katuthat's death.

The case will be reviewed by the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine if the resident will face any charges.
