ISLAMORADA, FL. — An Owings Mills man reportedly died in Florida after falling off a boat while walking the dog.
According to Florida deputies, 64-year-old Bruce Alan Lohr fell from a boat that was docked in one of the slips at the Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina early Thursday morning. Lohr was found dead about 100 feet east of the docks where he was reported missing.
Lohr's girlfriend told deputies that Bruce went out to walk their dog when he fell off the stern of the boat. The woman said she jumped into the water and was able to save the dog, but she could not find Bruce.
A neighbor in another boat nearby heard his girlfriend yelling and called 911.
Deputies say the couple had been drinking that night and there are no signs of foul play. The investigation is ongoing.
