BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — The chase started near an apartment complex in Owings Mills.
A Baltimore County police officer spotted a white SUV that matched the description of a car stolen back in December.
The driver fled -- the chase started.
Baltimore County Police say the suspect drove through mainly local roads into Baltimore city and all the way down the west side.
Baltimore city police provided an assist giving county officers a play-by-play of the driver's movements.
"It was a significant chase,” Baltimore County Cpl. Shawn Vinson said. “What was important was as soon as Baltimore city aviation could assist us, it allowed our officers to back off and to follow at a safe distance."
And follow they did until the driver turned down a dead-end street in Southwest Baltimore.
The car in question remained running at the scene, police say the driver bailed out.
Officers were still able to make the arrest.
Baltimore County Police say they may be responsible for more than just a stolen car. Detectives are currently interviewing the suspect that may be wanted in other county crimes.
