BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — A special appeals court has ruled in favor of the family of a woman who was shot and killed by police four years ago.
Korryn Gaines died after an hours long standoff in Baltimore County in 2016.
Her 5-year-old son was also injured. Her family filed a wrongful death lawsuit and was awarded 38 million dollars -- until a Baltimore circuit judge reversed the decision last year.
Today’s decision means the Gaines family won the appeal to receive that money.
