Two teens involved in murder of Baltimore County Police officer Amy Caprio sentenced to 30 years jail

TOWSON, Md. (WMAR) — A Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge has sentenced two of three remaining teens involved in the May 21 murder of Baltimore County Police Officer Amy Caprio.

On Monday, 17-year-old Derrick Matthews and Eugene Genius, 18, were sentenced to life in prison with all but 30 years suspended by Judge Jan Marshall Alexander.

In August, 17-year-old Dawnta Harris was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. He was behind the wheel of a stolen jeep that struck and killed Caprio.

17-year-old Darrell Ward was also originally scheduled for sentencing Monday, but that has been postponed to a later date.
