TOWSON, Md. — A Towson man was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for distribution of child pornography.

Officials said, 47-year-old Stephen Bayne Fields, Jr., admitted to receiving and sending pictures and video of of children participating in sexually explicit conduct. According to his plea deal, Fields used four social media accounts under alias names from July and September 2018, with names beginning with the letter “T” and each included photos of a supposedly 20-year-old woman by that name.

For example, as detailed in the plea agreement, while posing as “T” in July 2018, Fields sent messages to other social media users stating that he (or she) lived in Maryland and requesting “young girl pictures.”

In August 2018, Fields was discussing with a social media user about their experience of sexual abuse of a 7-year-old girl. During their conversation, Fields encouraged the abuse of the 7-year-old girl.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at his Towson residence after receiving a tip about Fields’ fake accounts. He was ordered to register as a sex offender in the places where he resides, where he is an employee, and where he is a student, after his release from prison.
