ESSEX, Md. — Detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting that killed one and left another injured.
Officers were dispatched to a call for a nuisance at 10:42 p.m on Saturday involving a crowd of people in the parking lot in the unit block of Skipjack Court.
The first arriving officer was confronted by Robert Johnson Jr., who allegedly got out of a car armed with a gun.
Police say Johnson and another person were shot by officers.
Johnson was taken to an area hospital where he died. The second suspect is currently hospitalized with an apparent non-life-threatening injury.
Homicide detectives are on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including reviewing body worn camera video.
