HALETHORPE, Md. — Weis markets associates volunteered and donated 10 thousand dollars to the Maryland Food Bank.
This was part of the company's "National Day of Giving."
On this giving Tuesday, customers were also encouraged to donate to the food bank.
"A dollar buys three meals so, the ability to double our donations will take that three meals for a dollar now becomes six meals. It's critical and huge for us. So, it goes a long way toward helping people in need." said Carmen Del Guercio, President and CEO of the Maryland Food Bank.
Shoppers can donate when checking out. Each Weis location will then add $500 to the customer contributions.
