MIDDLE RIVER, Md. — A woman trying to catch an MTA bus was hit and killed in Middle River on Sunday.

Baltimore County Police say 19-year-old Trinea Anerra Covington was trying to catch an MTA bus that was stopped and loading passengers on the north shoulder of Eastern Avenue near Tidewater Lane when she was hit.

Police say Covington suddenly darted across Eastern Ave around 1:11 p.m. when a 2017 Ram 1500 truck was going westbound on the same road. The driver told police they tried to swerve to avoid hitting Covington, but she collided with the passenger side of the truck.

Covington was taken to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center where she later died.
