REISTERSTOWN, Md. — A man was arrested moments after a shooting thanks to the workers he was fighting with.

Brandon Troy Higgs is being charged with attempted first degree murder, first-degree assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime for a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the 300 block of Bryanstone Road after reports of the shooting around 1:22 p.m. Investigators determined 24-year-old Higgs was fighting with workers at a neighboring home before he returned to his house in Bryanstone Road.

A short time later, Higgs went back to his neighbors house and continued to confront the workers, which escalated into a physical fight. Higgs then took out a handgun and shot one of the workers.

The workers held down Higgs until the police came and took him into custody.

The injured worker was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the lower body, and is expected to survive his injuries.

Higgs was arrested at the scene and is pending a bail review hearing.
