A Baltimore man was struck by a pickup truck as he tried to cross Liberty Road in Carroll County early Monday, Maryland State Police said.
Bernard D. Dillard, 51, was pushing a shopping cart across Liberty Road at Oakland Mills Road when he was struck by a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling east driven by 36-year-old Michael J. Hildenbrand of Eldersburg.
Hildenbrand remained on the scene and waited for emergency services to arrive.
Dillard was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. His injuries were considered not life-threatening.
One lane of Liberty Road remained closed as the accident was investigated.
