A Carroll County instrumental music teacher has been selected as a semifinalist for the 2019 Grammy Music Educator Award.
Brandi Jason teaches at Liberty High School in Eldersburg. She's been named a semifinalist for the award for three consecutive years and was a 2018 finalist.
In mid-December, a list of ten 2019 finalists will be announced. All selected finalists receive a $1000 reward, while semifinalists receive $500.
If crowned the winner, Jason would be flown to Los Angeles to attend the 61st Annual Grammy Awards and receive the honor along with $10,000 during a Grammy Week Ceremony.
The Music Educator Award recognizes public and private school teachers from kindergarten through college, who have made significant and lasting contributions to musical education in their schools.
