Carroll County Public Schools has named a new Superintendent.
On Wednesday, the Board of Education appointed Dr. Steven Lockard to the position.
Lockard will take the helm July 1, succeeding current Superintendent, Stephen H. Guthrie.
According to Carroll County Public Schools, Lockard is a county native and son of former school Superintendent, Dr. Brian Lockard who served from 1994 through 1998.
His career reportedly began in 1992, where he spent time in the Fairfax and Frederick County School systems.
