A County Road employee in Carroll County had to be airlifted to Shock Trauma after getting injured on the job.
Severe storms ripped through Sykesville Monday night, leaving damage along many roads. The County Roads team were tasked with repairing Barnett Avenue Tuesday morning, but as an excavator was being driven off the trailer, a worker got stuck.

The shift in the weight from the excavator being driven off the trailer caused the employee to become pinned between the truck and trailer. His co-workers immediately stepped in to free him, and officials say he was conscious and alert while on the scene.
The man was then airlifted to Shock Trauma as a precaution against potential internal injuries.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is investigating this incident.
