WESTMINSTER, Md. (WMAR) — The Maryland Health Department on Tuesday released the cause of death of an inmate, who died last Wednesday night at the Carroll County Detention Center in Westminster.
Nicholas Cirillo, 37, of Delaware, died of natural causes due to perforation of a duodenal ulcer.
Cirillo was found laying on the floor of his cell just before 11 p.m.
Correctional Deputies conducted CPR until medics arrived and took over 15-minutes later. At 11:41 p.m., Cirillo died.
No other inmates were being housed with Cirillo at the time of this death.
WMAR-2 News has reached out to Warden George Hardinger for comment, but hasn't yet heard back.
