Man struck, killed in hit-and-run crash in Hampstead

HAMPSTEAD, Md. — The Carroll County Sheriff's office is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened early Friday morning.

According to officials, officers and medics were called to the 1600 block of Brodbeck Road for a pedestrian that was struck by a car that did not stay on the scene.

Officers say 31-year-old Eric Hendler was walking northbound on Brodbeck Road when he was hit by a dark colored Ford truck driving on Brodbeck Road towards Route 30.

Hendler was transported to Carroll Hospital Center where was later pronounced dead.
