Hit deer flies through windshield of second car, killing passenger on MD-97

CARROLL COUNTY, Md. — A 42-year-old Westminster man was killed in a Thursday morning crash in Carroll County.

It happened a little after 6:35 a.m. on Maryland 97 near Bartholow Road.

A 24-year-old New Windsor woman hit a deer while driving southbound in a Honda Accord.

The impact caused the deer to be thrown through the window of a Hyundai Santa Fe that was headed northbound.

Jason Blair was a passenger in that car and died after being struck by the deer.

Roads in the area were reopened around 9 a.m.
