Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened Wednesday afternoon in Northeast, Cecil County.

When Troopers were dispatched to the scene, they saw a 2013 Nissan Sentra drive by 23-year-old Jennifer Graff that struck a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 66-year-old Betty Murray.

An investigation into the crash determined that in an effort to pass a car in front of her, Graff drove eastbound on Joseph Biggs Memorial Highway and crossed the westbound lane when she struck the Chevrolet.

Graff was transported to Shock Trauma for her injuries. Her 17-year-old passenger and a 27-year-old passenger identified as Robert Hale were both transported to Christiana Hospital.

Murray was transported to Union Hospital where she was later pronounced dead from her injuries.

Charges have not been filed at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
