PERRYVILLE, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash in Cecil County that took the life of a teen girl on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, troopers were called to the scene of the crash on Northbound I-95 in Perryville around 3:20 p.m.

An investigation into the crash revealed that the driver of a white Ford Expedition was traveling on the left lane on I-95 North when he switched lanes and struck a Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado then struck a Peterbilt tractor-trailer on the right lane.

The Ford Expedition had seven passengers in the car when it ran off to the left shoulder, struck the guardrail and came to rest in a ditch. One of the ejected passengers was 15-year-old Katana Graves. Officials say Graves was transported to Christiana Hospital by a Maryland State Police helicopter and was later pronounced dead.

Three other passengers in the Ford, including an adult and two 16-year-olds, were also transported to Christiana Hospital for treatment of their injuries. And an additional adult and a 14-year-old girl were transported by ambulance to Harford Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The driver of the Silverado and the driver of the tractor-trailer were not injured as a result of the crash.

The Maryland State Police CRASH Team investigators concluded that drugs, alcohol and speeding were not believed to be factors in this crash.

A Gofundme page has been set up for the family of 15-year-old Katana Graves.
