Police have identified the human remains found Sunday in Cecil County as a 37-year-old Elkton man who had been missing for roughly ten months, Maryland State Police said.

The skeletal remains were found by an Elkton resident in a wood area off of Red Hill Road around noon on March 10, police said. Police investigated, and the body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and to determine the cause of death.

While the cause of the man’s death has yet to be established, he was identified as Eric Martin Startt. He had been reported missing to the State Police on May 13, 2018.

Anyone with information regarding Startt’s disappearance or the discovery of the human remains should contact the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division at 410-996-7814.
