PORT DEPOSIT, Md. — A Maryland state flag was stolen from a fire station in Port Deposit, the Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company reported on Tuesday.

EMS Chief and Mayor Wayne Tome, Sr. said the flag was taken on Sunday between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. He said it's disheartening that people would take something they have so much pride in.

Chief Tome, Sr. said that they are always actively working on improving the city, that they take pride in the city and for someone to take the flag is disrespectful.

The fire company is working to look through surveillance footage to find who the culprit was, but asks that if you have any information on where the flag may be, you can call (410) 378-4223.
