ELKTON, Md. — The shutdown has had a major impact on businesses nationwide.

In the Baltimore area, some new businesses open.

Ollie's opened a new store in Elkton. The store is in the Big Elk Mall, in the old K-Mart.

While they're open for business, they do have some restrictions.

That includes having only 50 customers in the store at one time, only having every other register open to keep up social distancing, as well as other measures, like constantly cleaning carts.

A spokesperson said the opening means more people, are going back to work.

"We have hired 59 associates full time and part time from the community so we're bringing jobs to the area."

It's the 12th store to open in Maryland.

The store will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
