ELKTON, Md. — Maryland State Police is investigating a crash that involved a school bus that had 10 students on board.
On Monday, at around 8:25 a.m., the North East Barrack got a call for a crash involving a school bus at westbound Telegraph Road, which is east of Fairview Road, in Elkton. Troopers reported that a tractor trailer rear-ended a bus while it was stopped with its red lights flashing to picked up Calvert Elementary School students.
Officials say that the tractor trailer had to be towed from the travel portion of the roadway due to severe front end damage.
The truck driver, 30-year-old Anthony Martin, of Pennsylvania, was cited with failure to control his speed. The investigation also revealed that the crash was not weather related.
The 10 students eventually made it to school via another bus and there were no reported injuries.
