A 52-year-old grandmother and her two grandchildren are dead after she swerved to avoid hitting a dog Wednesday afternoon, police said
Maryland State police said Joanne Janvier, 52 and her grandchildren Angelina Noble, 9, and Jeremy McCready, 6 were killed when Janvier swerved into opposing traffic to avoid hitting a dog.
The crash happened around noon in the 2700 block of Maryland Route 314 in Greensboro, Md.
A preliminary investigation found that Janvier, was traveling westbound on Route 314 with her two grandchildren when she swerved to avoid a dog and crossed the center line into the path of tractor trailer going eastbound.
Emergency medical services personnel pronounced Janvier and the children dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.
Police said alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
