Nearly 16,000 chickens killed in Caroline County fire

CAROLINE COUNTY, Md. — Nearly 16,000 chickens perished in a fire in Caroline County on Friday.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal, the fire which took an hour and a half to control was discovered by a passerby.

The fire took place on 3640 Pepper Road in Federalsburg and the estimated loss of the structure and its contents is around $200,000.
